This release includes some significant changes to the site's front page as well as laying the foundation for what will become a robust question and answer feature. The details are as follows:
- Browser Detection - the biggest problem we've had thus far is browser incompatibility with our site as we support the latest versions of Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. A browser detection element has been added to advise users of outdated or unsupported browsers to download the latest versions of IE and Firefox. The site also appears to support Opera, but we will need to do further testing.
- Simplified Home Page - our previous version provided little benefit to prospective users, so we ripped out much of the front page and created a simplified look. Now, there are log in and sign up boxes as well as links to follow us on Facebook (this link will go active on Friday), Twitter, and through our blog.
- Ask a Question - we've laid the groundwork for a robust function that will allow users to 'ask a question' within the planning modules and next actions. At this time, it is a version of a contact form where users can ask a question and we'll deliver a response. It does not deliver any type of context around the question, so users will need to be very specific until it is improved in later releases.
- Bug Fix - a small bug was duplicating next actions in the background. The nuisance has been eliminated.
That is all for now, but if you'd like to see something in an upcoming release, all you need to do is ask.
